A Topical Treasury of Proverbs

When I was contacted and asked to read this book I was not quite sure what I would get. I love study books but many have disappointed me. However, when I opened up this book by Tom B. Clarke, I was pleasantly surprised by what my eyes saw.

A Topical Treasury of Proverbs, takes the book of wisdom and helps you to find scriptures on various topics. The chapters in Proverbs read more as sayings various chapter, than an actual chapter in a book. However, the author has taken the time to take each and every verse in the book of Proverbs and classify each one under one or more of a hundred topics.

In a way it is like a concordance, but what Clarke does is add the entire scripture, using the New English Translation, right in the book. Of course I think everyone needs to open their Word to study effectively; but a feature like this one, makes one’s study time more pleasant.

A Topical Treasury of Proverbs is a great tool for your personal or group study time, for family devotions or Bible lessons for those of us who homeschool our children. It is also good for those who journal.

I have been reading it almost daily and it sits by my side when I read the book of Proverbs.

If you are looking for a good way to study the book of Proverbs topically without having to flip from page to page, I highly recommend this book. It is great!
