My Birthday Wish

Today I am 40! I can remember 20 and I tell ya, I’ll take 40 any day of the week.

As I considered where I have been, where I am now, and where I hope to go in the future, one thing I realize is that I am definitely a servant. I love seeing people succeed and do their best in life. So just about everything I dream, hope, and have passion for revolves around helping others in some way.

For my birthday I thought about what I can do to help someone else and I considered my own transformation towards a liberating authentic life. You know what? I want the same for every person who reads this post.

A liberating authentic life!

Arriving there takes making conscious decisions for every part of your life. For me I am making purposeful decisions to eat better, to spend more time with God, to write more, to look at my ugliness and make some proactive changes, and most of all to love me like God does -without conditions.

That’s living a liberating authentic life.

So my birthday wish today is that you, the person reading these words, will make a conscious decision to start living your life in a richer more authentic manner. I am asking you to tell me one conscious decision you will make today to change the way you are living your life.

LaTara, I really appreciate your birthday wish. Living an authentic life is really what my program is all about.

My focus for 2009 is courage – Joshua 1:1-9 As each day presents itself with opportunities, through prayer, I’m choosing to look at those opportunities through very different eyes. Already as I have practiced courage, to my great surprise, more authenticity has surfaced. Nothing like starting the new year soaring!! =)

(Today’s is my son’s too – he’s 17 and today in church he re-committed himself to Christ, bringing me and my husband to tears as the past 6 months has been hell with/for him)
Anyway – thank you for the request for a specific way to live an authentic life – liberating, for sure. Being specific is always so good.
I will increase the order in my life according to 1 CR 14:40 that all things be done decently and in order. I’ll begin by spending the next 30 minutes, before I relax and enjoy my empty house. clearing my reading room table.

I am also a servant. My conscious decision for today and every day is to listen more, to view others without prejudice or judgment and to embrace someone who feels alone or forgotten.

First off, I am wishing you a very blessed birthday and I can’t wait to meet up to celebrate!!

The one thing I have prayed about and have decide to do this year and every year is to be the real me and not let anyone try to change me or my decisions. Of course the decisions that I make are for the best for me and for my family and the best in God’s eyes.

I will no longer live in the blinders from the past and let go of the shackles and be ‘me’ the real and authentic ‘me’ and I have many thanks to give a special friend who has opened my eyes to that truth.

Who is that friend you might ask? Well, you of course!! You are a great and true friend, that I love and respect.
