The Collapse Of Distinction (Book Review)
In my quest to bring good reading suggestions to those who read Mom Unplugged, I decided to share a book on the topic of business. I know that there are many who read this blog who are entrepreneurs; so I don’t think it will hurt to share a business book or resource every now or then.
I recently had the pleasure to read Collapse Of Distinction by Scott McKain and I have to say that it is one of the most interesting books about running business that I have ever read. I usually get pretty bored reading books on business because the books don’t speak to me but rather they speak at me. I am an engager and love to interact with what I read.
Mr. McKain shares the eye-opening truths about how easy it is to have a business that is very familiar to the rest and how a business owner can find uniqueness among the competition so that they stand out. From the introductory chapter to the end, the business owner is challenged and encouraged to create a fingerprint for their business that is all their own.
What I found most revealing was the Action Steps, Questions, and Ideas section. After providing an “Executive Summary” or outline of what the chapter covered, McKain gives solid action steps, ponder questions, and doable ideas to help the business owner stand out from the crowd.
I enjoyed the book so much that I decided to go through it again and use it as a part of my daily learning activities. I would suggest this book to any entrepreneur or small business owner looking to find ways to be different from the rest.
